Chattanooga junior Peja Goold was named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week for all games played April 14-20, the league office announced Monday.
Goold was ranked second in the NCAA last week with three wins, going undefeated. She struck out 24 batters, sixth best in the NCAA, and threw three complete games. Her two shutouts was tied for the best in the NCAA and she is currently ranked second in Division I for the season with eight shutouts.
The Stockton, Calif., native posted a 0.33 ERA, allowing just one run through three games and gave up one hit in the Mocs 9-0 win in the series finale at Wofford Saturday.
Chattanooga is 33-12 overall and 10-4 in the SoCon.
The Mocs will travel to Kennesaw State for a midweek game Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
