Dennis Allan Weaver, 72, formerly of Henagar Al., passed away on April 17, 2025, in Lecanto, Fl.
Dennis graduated from Sylvania High School in 1970 and went on to join the Air Force where he became an air traffic controller. Following his service, Dennis joined the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller in Shreveport LA. Following his return to Fort Payne Al., Dennis was a deputy sheriff for DeKalb County and later became an investigator for the Dekalb County sheriff’s office. From there Dennis moved to the Fort Payne Police Department where he was a detective and a member of the Swat Team. Following his law enforcement career Dennis moved to Chattanooga. There, he joined the team at Shaw Industries in Ringgold Ga. Dennis began as a sales manager in Oxnard, Ca. and then became a national accounts manager where he worked closely with a select group of home décor agencies across the country and Canada.
Following his retirement, Dennis, his loving wife, Betty, and their beloved miniature schnauzer, Axel, moved to Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, Fl. Dennis was a member of the Kiwanis club, as well as a Mason and a Shriner. He was a private pilot and enjoyed golfing, hiking, entertaining friends, traveling and serious political discussions.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Wilma Weaver and his brother, Vincent Weaver.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty Johnson Weaver, sisters Sherrie Field (Gary) Chattanooga, and Angela Lusk (Bobby) Chattanooga, daughter Kristen McGarrah (Chandler) Birmingham, three grandchildren, Jackson, Embry and Walker McGarrah, Birmingham; stepson, Shadow Leigh Kean, Panama City, Fl., and step grandson, Aiden Leigh Kean, Stevenson, Al.,
Sgt. Weaver will be interned at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl.
