Mitchell Lee “Crickett” Phillips
Mitchell Lee “Crickett” Phillips, 97, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully early Friday morning April 25, 2025, at his home.
“Crickett” was born on Feb. 9, 1928, in Lauderdale County, Al., to the late Rev Tom Lee, and Adel Phillips.
He was the Phillips family patriarch. “Crickett” was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and a lifetime “Junk Man’ who will forever be missed.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his devoted wife of over 71 years, Jean Phillips, whom he is now reunited with and celebrating together in Heaven.
Surviving are his sons, Terry Lee (Jeanine) Phillips, and Gary Wade (Robin) Phillips; grandchildren, Gregg (Dee Dee) Phillips, Chris (Heather) Phillips, Ashley (Jim) Thurman, Seth (Carrie) Phillips, and Emma Kate Phillips; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 30, from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Coulter Chapel of the Lane Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
