The Chattanooga outdoor track and field team is back in action this weekend at the Tennessee Invite at the Tom Black Track in Knoxville.
“We’re looking forward to giving it another go this weekend in Knoxville,” Mocs assistant coach Patrick Gildea said. “We’re coming off a successful weekend in Atlanta and at Raleigh. We’re holding out some athletes while adding in those who sat out last weekend.”
Friday’s events get started with Stella Henry and Norah Haney in the long jump at Noon.
The track events get started for Chattanooga at 3:00 p.m. with the 1500 meter run. Riley Hanson, the only member of the men’s cross country team entered in the race, runs the 1500 meter at 3:25 p.m.
Ryleigh Simmons and Ava McGue are up next with the 200 meter dash followed by the 400 meter Hurdles with Sarah Unterholzner and Adelaide McKeown. The 5000 meter run will close out the competition for the Mocs on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday gets off to a start at 12:30 with the women’s triple jump and the high jump at 2:30 p.m.
On the track, Haney and McKeown get started at Noon with the 100 meter hurdles. Simmons takes on the 100 meter dash followed by Taylor Crawford in the 400 meter dash. EV McGowan takes her shot at the 3000 meter Steeplechase at 3:40 p.m.
The Mocs are in the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relays.
