Deborah Brantley Martin, 74, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

A native of Jackson, Ms., she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Melvin Martin and by her father, George Frank Brantley and her mother, Oneida Burnett Brantley.

She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.S. in Mathematics and Psychology. After retiring from the Information Services Department of the Tennessee Valley Authority with 25 years of service, she was a volunteer at the CHATT Foundation, a member of Valamont Women’s Club and an active parishioner of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Chattanooga, for 45 years.

Mrs. Martin’s beloved extended family includes her goddaughter, Lillian Hensley Sims, her godson Devlin Michael Davis, Susan, Jody and Michael, Nicole, Ashlee and Kathryn, Kelly and John, Kate, Ellis and Carter, Heather and Kevin, Ellie and Melissa, Susan and Tina.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, May 18, at 3 p.m. with internment following in the church’s memorial garden. Immediately following a reception will be held in Key Andrews Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Outreach Committee or the CHATT Foundation.
