Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) has received a $2,700 grant from the North Georgia Electric Membership Foundation to support Adult Education.
“We are thankful to receive this grant, which will allow us to expand our support for Adult Education students as they work toward achieving their educational and career goals,” said Lisa Shaw, vice president of Adult Education at GNTC. “With this funding, we can better assist individuals pursuing their High School Equivalency (HSE) credential, improving their English as a Second Language proficiency and building the job skills needed for long term success in the workforce.”
North Georgia Electric Membership Corp. (NGEMC) customers may opt to contribute funds to community development initiatives in Catoosa, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield counties through the Operation Round Up program.
“All grants provided through Operation Round Up are made possible by the generosity of NGEMC’s membership, and we are grateful to all of our members who participate by rounding up their power bills to the nearest dollar each month,” said Timothy Jones, foundation chairman at NGEMC.
