The Chattanooga Regent Council and John Sevier SAR hosted Flag Day at Brainerd Mission Cemetery. Attendees included CAR, DAR and SAR members, as well as members of the community.

The cemetery, owned by five DAR chapters and the John Sevier Chapter SAR, commemorates Brainerd Mission's history and annually posts new United States and Cherokee Nation flags.

Cliff Kent, TNSSAR Color Guard commander, posted the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Phyllis Carter, chair of the Brainerd Mission Committee, reported that the Cherokee Bike Riders on the "Remember the Removal" ride visited the cemetery and left flowers for their ancestors.
Tammera Hicks gave a history of the Brainerd Mission and performed "Amazing Grace" in Cherokee. Emily Robinson, TNDAR state regent, and Brian Frye, president of the John Sevier Chapter SAR, also provided remarks.

The Chattanooga Regent Council consists of Chair Meegan Burton (Judge David Campbell Chapter), Vice Chair Jennifer Thomas (Regent Judge David Campbell), Secretary Natalie Davis (Regent Nancy Ward Chapter), Treasurer Gayle Burrows (Regent Chickamauga Chapter), Press Jennifer Harvey (Regent Chief John Ross Chapter), and Carolyn Caulkins (Regent Moccasin Bend Chapter).
