Signal Mountain Gets New Software Packages; Large Tree Falls On Rainbow Lake Suspension Bridge

The Signal Mountain Council has approved the purchase of two software packages that will help make the town run more efficiently. One of these programs is the First Due Fire Department Management application. It has been used by the Signal Mountain Fire Department since 2023, and Fire Chief Larry Sloan said it serves the department’s needs, Town Manager Matt Justice told the council. Angela Campbell Takes Reins As Girls'Basketball Coach At Walker Valley

CHARLESTON, Tenn. -- For the second time in as many months, Walker Valley has a new head girls basketball head coach. After two-year head coach Paul Sausville resigned this spring, a search was made and veteran coach Todd Wright, with over 400 career victories was hired in late May. Wright came down to work with the team through the June camp, but then last week resigned to accept an administrative position that allows him and his new bride to stay in the Livingston area. ... more

The Chattanooga Lookouts dropped a second consecutive game to the Knoxville Smokies on Wednesday night by a score of 4-1. Shortstop Edwin Arroyo's sixth inning double kept the Lookouts from getting no hit by the Smokies staff. Knoxville starter Tyler Schlaffer allowed just the one hit in six complete innings. He struck five and walked five. Lookouts starting pitcher Ryan Cardona also had an excellent start, completing six innings and allowing only two runs on four hits with five strikeouts. ... more
