HES Opens In-House Spay And Neuter Clinic

Humane Educational Society wrapped up their first week of surgeries following the soft opening of their new low-cost spay/neuter clinic to the public. By providing affordable spay and neuter options, HES hopes to decrease the number of unwanted litters, as well as decrease the number of animals that require sheltering and the number of strays in the community. I am writing to express my outrage and deep concern regarding the proposed hot mix asphalt plant at the intersection of Thrasher Pike and Highway 27 — in close proximity to Ivy Academy (a public school), North Chickamauga Creek, and the North Chickamauga Creek State Natural Area. The fact that a public meeting on this proposal is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13th at 9:00 AM — with little to no notice — is unacceptable. Lookouts Offense Breaks Out In 9-3 Victory

After a frustrating week offensively for the Chattanooga Lookouts the bats finally broke out on Saturday night as they clubbed the division leading Birmingham Barons by a score of 9-3. Four hitters had multiple hit games in the ten hit, eight walk performance for Chattanooga. Ruben Ibarra hit his 13th homer of the season in the fourth inning with two runners on.
