Free Gardening Workshop Set For Aug. 11

A free gardening workshop will take place on Monday, Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the South Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4605 Redlands Dr. Allan Kennedy, who has been gardening since age five and has operated a 14-acre commercial blackberry farm, will present information on how to grow high nutrient dense food, with large yields and limited garden space. Our children are addicted to their cell phones. I don’t blame the kids, I would be the same way, probably worse. The Bradley County Schools have a new cell phone policy: ban the cell, bell to bell. If you’re in class, no cell phone. Hamilton County Schools should follow the courageous lead of our sister city. Lookouts Flip The Script On Smokies

After four consecutive losses to the Smokies, three of them by a wide margin, the Lookouts were finally able to exact some revenge with an 11-1 victory on Saturday night. The Smokies had put together several big innings throughout the week. On Saturday it was a seven run seventh inning for Chattanooga to help them pull away.
