John Lewis Lively, 72, of Chattanooga, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at home.
He was a life long resident of the Chattanooga and the Ringgold area and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Combustion Engineering.
Mr. Lively was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Monroe and Virginia Massingill Lively; a brother, Kenneth Lively, and a sister, Christine Lively.
Survivors are a son, Ricky Massingill; a grandson, James Clayton, both of Ringgold; a brother, Wendell Lively of East Brainerd, two sisters, Doris Knighten of Burglington, N.C. and Geraldine Knighten of Graham, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior Bryson and Dr. Horace Crawford officiating.
Burial will be at New McDonald Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
