The Tivoli and the Chattanooga Regional History Museum teamed up for a free tour of the Tivoli. The theater was built to show movies and
did so from 1921 to 1961. Since then the theater, which is said to be a
smaller version of a similar theater in Chicago, has been renovated which
included enlarging the stage and replacing the original 2,500 seats with 1,762 larger ones. The Tivoli is now used for pageants, plays and performing acts and the lobby is often used for weddings. Here are the lobby lights.
