Nokian Tyres Summer Nights, Rhea County’s annual summer concert series, begins June 6 and runs every Friday night of the month on the Rhea County Courthouse Lawn.
The Rhea Heritage Preservation Foundation hosts the seventh annual celebration to bring community members downtown to enjoy local bands, food vendors and informational booths from area organizations. Nokian Tyres also conducts a drawing for free tires and will randomly select a winner on the final night Friday, June 27.
Here are the dates and artists:
Friday, June 6 – Rex and the Ramblers
Friday, June 13 – Ed Beavers
Friday, June 20 – Joe C. DeVille and Friends
Friday, June 27 – Wilson and Cross
Festivities start at 7 p.m. each Friday in June and end around 10 p.m. Hundreds of guests attended last year’s concert series, setting an attendance record. The event is presented by the Rhea Heritage Preservation Foundation, which exists to celebrate the history and culture of Rhea County through diverse programs, exhibits and preservation of resources.
Nokian Tyres sponsors the event as part of its commitment to serving the community where it operates an award-winning production factory. The company currently employees approximately 500 team members at its Dayton Factory, where it makes all-season and all-weather tires for the North American market.
The global tiremaker began supporting the concert series in 2019. Nokian Tyres also serves as a platinum sponsor of the Tennessee Strawberry Festival and was recently the presenting sponsor of Laurel Dace Day, an event hosted by the Tennessee Aquarium in Spring City to raise awareness of an endangered fish native to Rhea County.
