James “Jim” Royer, beloved husband, stepfather, Pops, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by love. Jim was married to his devoted wife, Jean, for 30 years, and together they built a life filled with laughter, hard work, and cherished memories.

Jim dedicated 43 years of his life as a skilled Boilermaker and later served as a respected Quality Control Manager with Ware Inc. He was a proud stepfather to Chad Collins and Eric Collins, a caring father-in-law to Kristin Collins, and a deeply devoted Pops to his cherished grandson, Braxton Collins.

He is survived by his loving brother and sister-in-law, David and Candy Royer; his sister-in-law and her husband, Vicki Fox and Drew; and a host of extended family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Jeris Cooper, and his mother, Venora Lee Gilbreath. A lifelong Tennessee Vols fan, Jim’s spirit was as bold and passionate as the team he so proudly cheered for.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to nurse assistant Andrea for her exceptional care, and to the special “village of friends” who provided endless love and support throughout his life.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Jim’s generous heart and lifelong love for children. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Arrangements entrusted to Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn. 37343, 423 351-3975
