Jimmy “Jimbo” Stewart
Jimmy “Jimbo” Stewart, 79, of Hixson, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2025. He was born on May 24, 1946, in East Tallasee, Al., to Jacob and Vera Stewart.
Jimmy was a gifted artist with a passion for painting and drawing. His work earned recognition and is proudly displayed in the Hank Williams Sr. Museum. In 1985, he won the prestigious Tennessee Duck Stamp Competition, a testament to his remarkable talent. Beyond visual art, Jimmy also had a love for music—he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved wife, Lavern Stewart, a daughter Rhonda Rose and brother Johnny Stewart.
Jimmy is survived by his children: Patricia (Terry) Bowen, Joanna (Heather) Stewart, and son Kelly (Tara) Stewart. He was a grandfather to Ashley, Tiffany, Trevor, Bobbie, John, Adam, and Wyatt, and a great-grandfather to Ayden, Abel, Ashlynn, Bailey, Owen, Bryson, Everette, Mason, and Axel. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry and Mike Stewart; his sister, Bertha Rooney; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Pastor Phillip Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from beginning at 12 p.m. until the time of service.
