Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue has received delivery of 60 state-of-the-art Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) units and four Emergency Air Supply Systems from Siddons-Martin Emergency Group. The new Scott Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBAs will replace the department’s current units, which have been in service since 2007.
These advanced units meet the latest National Fire Protection Association standards and feature the most current technology to enhance firefighter safety and improve tracking in hazardous environments.
The updated design incorporates materials that offer greater resistance to chemical exposure and absorb less water, helping to reduce contamination risks.
In addition to the SCBAs, each of Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue’s front-line engines will now be equipped with a new Scott RIT-Pak Fast Attack Emergency Air Supply System. These systems include connections for refilling a breathing apparatus, supplemental air supplies and a replacement mask. In the event of a downed firefighter, Rapid Intervention Teams can use these systems to stabilize and extract personnel from dangerous environments quickly and safely.
