Decosimo, Chattanooga’s largest CPA and Financial Consulting firm, announced today an affiliation with DeMoss Accounting, PLLC.
DeMoss Accounting will become a practice of Joseph Decosimo and Company, LLP. Founder John DeMoss will continue managing the 5th Street office.
Mr. DeMoss said, “This is a family and a firm of high integrity that strives for the highest quality in their work. I am proud to again be affiliated with them.”
Mr. DeMoss began his accounting career with Decosimo in the 1980’s.
He said, “I started in their proofreading department, looking for typos and checking addition on tax returns and financial statements while going to school. Then I applied for a position in their audit department and worked for several years until going to work, with their blessing, for one of their clients”.
In 1995 Mr. DeMoss saw a need in Chattanooga for small business accounting, now referred to as business process outsourcing. He began his own firm with the idea of providing affordable, high quality accounting services to small enterprises not served by larger firms.
DeMoss Accounting employs three degreed accountants and three support staff with a combined 30 years experience in processing and reporting financial transactions for area businesses. All of the DeMoss employees will remain with the practice.
Mr. DeMoss said he believes the move offers advantages to clients of both firms, “This will be a win-win situation for all. The Decosimo firm has offered only limited bookkeeping services; now they can offer complete service. The DeMoss firm has not offered audit, income tax and corporate finance services. Now we can.”
“DeMoss clients will continue to receive the same high level of service that they’re accustomed to,” said Decosimo’s Managing Partner, Nick Decosimo. “They will work with the same people and receive the same high level of service at the same affordable rates. As their businesses grow and their needs change, however, they will have access to the full resources of the Decosimo firm.”
