The 15-under Choo-Choo City Mustangs defeated the East Cobb Astros Sunday in the semifinals of the 16-year-old division of the Big Wood World Series at Ooltewah High School. The Mustangs lost to the Greensboro Battling Center in the finals.

The team also won the Tennessee State USSSA tournament in Donaldson, Tenn. for the second consecutive year, and finished runner-up in the prestigious Midwest Classic in Cincinnati.

The 15-under Mustangs competed in the Sandlotter Super League, and also won four games against East Cobb competition this summer.

The team also defeated the two-time defending national champion 16-year-old Tennessee Ravens.
