WWII Navy Veteran, Retired From US Postal Service After 40 Years

John Henry Hill, Jr., 82, of Chattanooga died November 3, 2005.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 40 years of service, and was a member of St. John United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Birdie Killian Hill, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Tommie Kendrick Hill, Chattanooga; sons, John H. (Joan) Hill, III, Bryant, AL, Charles “Bud” (Kim) Hill, Georgetown, and David “Freddy” (Gina) Hill, Gainesville, FL; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Ron Goodman officiating.

There will be no public visitation before the services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. John United Methodist Church.
