Harold Augustus Underwood, 68, of Soddy-Daisy, died on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at a local hospital.
He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and the Ruritan Club in Henagar, AL.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Brashear; and granddaughter, Alicia Underwood.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Tina Underwood; sons, Marty Underwood, of Henagar, Dr. James Gardner, of Fresno, CA, Shawn Williams, of Chattanooga; daughters, Shelia Robertson, of Scottsboro, AL, Valda Pollard, of Crossnore, NC, Carmia Eldridge, of Chattanooga; brothers, Ledon Underwood, Jerry Wayne Underwood, both of Henagar; sister, Yvonne Wagner, of Henagar; grandchildren, Jason Underwood, Amelia Underwood, Heath Robertson, Laura Wayner, Ashlyn Robertson, Jeffery Pollard, David Pollard, Shawn Williams Jr., Sheyenne Williams, Blake Ingle, James Gardner Jr., Danielle Gardner; great-grandchildren, Camryn Wayner, Jordyn Wayner, Willa Pollard.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the New Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Painter and the Rev. Bobby Hullett officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his friends at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.
Mr. Underwood will lie in state one hour before the service at the church.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
