Willene Elizabeth Neal Howard, 82, of Collegedale, died on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, following a short illness while under the care of Hospice of Chattanooga.
She was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Calhoun, Ga., to the late Marion and Willie Neal. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Howard served for several years as a peer counselor to the families of stroke victims at Siskin Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Clifton and Harold Neal.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul Wayne Howard; daughters, Sheryle Suzanne Klepetz, of Nashville, Deborah Diane Stewart, of Decatur, Al. Mrs. Howard was also blessed with four grandchildren, Tracy Kaye Greene and husband, Kevin, Amanda Ellen Stewart, Lt. Bryan Howard Stewart and wife, Amanda, Mary Catherine Stewart; great-granddaughter, Abigal Greene; brother, James Neal; sisters, Sue Krause, Martha Ann Edgmon; sister-in-law, Lavona Neal and niece, Kandy Galbraith; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Keith Mumford officiating.
The interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
