Erlanger Health System's Privacy Manager Alicia Blevins has been chosen as president-elect for the Tennessee Health Information
Management Association.
Ms. Blevins holds the designations of Registered Health Information
Administrator (RHIA) and Certified in Healthcare Privacy (CHP).
Ms. Blevins' election was made at THIMA's annual meeting April 19-21 in Nashville.
As the membership organization of health information management
professionals, THIMA fosters professional development through education, representation and lifelong learning.
These commitments promote quality
health information for the benefit of the public, healthcare consumers,
healthcare providers and other users of clinical data. There are
approximately 1,500 members of THIMA. These HIM professionals work in all
levels of healthcare settings, health maintenance organizations, insurance
companies, law firms and information systems companies.
THIMA is committed to the creation and utilization of systems and
standards to ensure quality health information and values the balance of
patients' privacy and confidentiality of health information with legitimate
uses of data.
