John Simon Dunn, 75, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, September 17, 2006.

John served his country during the Korean War on the USS Cimarron. He resided in California until he retired from his sales career and lived in Chattanooga for the past 25 years. John became an avid genealogy researcher. He will be lovingly remembered for his compassion and generosity to his family, friends and all his acquaintance.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Blanche Dunn; his two brothers, Edward and Marvin Dunn and a sister, Evelyn Payne.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Crowe; two sons, Bill Ferrell of California and Dan Ferrell of Pennsylvania; grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev. Grady Cooper officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are made by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist 5401, Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
