Thomas Edward Wooden, 93, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, March 28, 2008 in a local hospital.
Mr. Wooden was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, a 1934 graduate of Tyner High School, and a retiree of Dave L. Brown Construction Company.
A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed vegetable gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the former Shepherd Baptist Church and recently attended Heritage Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas B. Wooden; mother, Bettie M. Wooden; two sisters, Bertha Morrison and Velma Johnson; brother, Chester Wooden.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys R. Wooden and daughter, Linda S. Wooden.
Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Tyner Cemetery (adjacent to Heritage Baptist Church) with Rev. Walter Hicks officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Valley View Chapel.
