Susan Cooper
Susan Cooper, 59, of Ringgold, died on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at her residence.
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area, she was a member of Burning Bush Baptist Church. She was a member of the Chattanooga Symphony, Republican Women, Walden Club, and served on the Board of Advisors of the Little Theatre.
She spent her time raising her grandchildren who affectionately called her “G.G.” which stands for “Groovy Granny."
Her father, James “Butch” Benton and her Australian Shepherd of 15 years, Jed, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Cooper; daughter, Danielle (Tony) Pickett; son, Brett Jones, all of Ringgold; mother and stepfather, Rocelia and Joseph Lewis Card, Sr., Chattanooga; grandchildren, Landon and Logan Pickett, Taylor, Hailey, and Austin, Jones; sister, Kim (Ken) Kelly, Signal Mountain; stepsister, Janis (Danny) Henderson, Chattanooga; stepbrothers; Joseph Lewis (Margaret) Card, Jr., Chattanooga, and Lamar Card, Los Angeles, Ca.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel with Rev. Dennis McNulty officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Joseph Watlington, Dr. Paul Cornea, and Dr. Darrell Johnson for the love and care that they provided to Susan.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Monday and 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
