The Rev. Gilbert Miller, 85, of Signal Mountain, died on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008.
He was a Baptist minister for over 50 years and a longtime member of Lone Oak Baptist Church.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Ethel Brock Miller; son, Lamar Miller; and brother, C.L. Miller.
He is survived by Loy J. Miller, his wife of 33 years; children/caregivers, Patrick Smith, Curtis Smith and Myrna Warren.
Survivors include his sons, Standifer and Wade Miller; daughters, Sheila Smith, Terry Ewton, LeGeita Erwin, LaVonia Swafford and Twanda Splawn; brothers, Donald and Ronald Miller; sisters, Opal Tyler, Connie Holloway, Mary Jane Humble, Sandra Seals and Roxie Jones; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at noon CDT on Sunday, at Lone Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Stacy Seals and the Rev. Dewayne Harris officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. CDT on Saturday at Ewton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice of Chattanooga or Lone Oak Baptist Church.
