Raymond E. Haven Sr., 71, died on October 18, 2009 in a local health care facility.

He started his family and career in Monterey, Ca., with wife, Emillia Roscelli-Haven.

He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was of Baptist faith and previous owner of many businesses in Monterey, Ca., and Chattanooga areas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie C. Haven, son, Richard Haven, and uncle, Herman Haven.

Raymond Haven was well-known by all who knew him, for his personality, quick wit, and love for life.

Survivors include his father, Gerald (Lois) Haven, Chattanooga; brother, Bill (Lavonne) Haven, Pensacola, Fl.; children, Raymond Jr. (Teal) Haven, of Ooltewah; Roderick Haven, Vanessa Haven, Sacramento, Ca., Robert Haven of Georgia, and David Cunningham of Indiana. He was also blessed with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 11:30 a.m. in the Valley View Chapel with Father Gordon C. Temple officiating. Burial will follow at Ooltewah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn.
