Georgia Northwestern Technical College Holds College Fair

  • Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Georgia Northwestern Technical College held a college fair last month on its Walker County Campus. Close to 1,000 high school upperclassmen got a first-hand look at the more than 200 programs the college has to offer. “From our Early College program to the dual enrollment classes we teach at so many of our high schools, both GNTC and the high schools are very involved in making this next generation set goals that will help break a dangerous trend,” said Georgia Northwestern Technical College Provost, Jeff King.

Georgia Northwestern’s Floyd County Campus will hold a similar event in the new year.

GNTC has four campuses across a seven-county service area including Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Polk, and Walker County. More than 6,000 students attend either on-campus or online. “Our students don’t only come from our high schools, though,” said Mr. King. “They may have been behind a desk for 13 years or behind a machine in a factory for 13 years, we have an incredibly well-rounded student body. One that gives back just as much as it gets from the college. We couldn’t ask for anything more.”
