Sophomore At Grace Baptist Was Avid Sportsman

Ryan Michael Gill, 17, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, May 9, 2009, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born May 7, 1992 in Chattanooga.

Ryan was a member of Silverdale Bapist Church and the Student Ministry. He was a tenth grade student at Grace Baptist Academy where he attended since kindergarten. He was an avid sportsman and played basketball and tennis at Grace Academy. He was also a member of the yearbook staff.

His grandfather, Bill Gill preceded him in death.

Survivors are his loving parents, Scott and Jamie Gill; sister, Emily Gill all of Chattanooga; grandparents, Fritz and Saundra Vetterick of Harrison; Carol Gill of Powder Springs, Georgia; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 10 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church and Academy with Rev. Tony Walliser officiating. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Gill, Earl McDowell, Keith Sands, Jeff Vetterick, Keff Gill and Ruston Pierce.

The family will receive friends on Monday, from 4-8 p.m. at Silverdale Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Academy, 7815 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

Arrangements are by the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn.
