After 13 years in Highland Plaza on Hixson Pike, Grumpy’s Music and Books will re-open at 10 a.m. on Aug. 12, in its new storefront beside Northgate Mall.
Owner Doug West has been in the used book business since 1996 and opened Grumpy’s to compete with other used book stores. “We’re set apart by our customer service. We remember customers’ names and particular interests, and the employees have an exceptional knowledge of the books, movies, and CDs in stock,” Mr. West said.
Grumpy’s now occupies a space in the old Target building beside Northgate Mall. “We anticipate higher traffic and are excited to be more readily available to our customers – old and new – in this location,” Mr. West said.
Specializing in used books, Grumpy’s buys, sells, and trades books, DVDs, CDs, and albums. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Grumpy’s will officially re-open for business on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
“In today’s tough economy, I’d expect more people to look into buying used or resale,” Mr. West said. “We’re here to help you do just that.”
