Civil Engineer With TVA For 35 Years

Steve Taylor, 59, of Soddy Daisy, died on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010.

Steve was a very loving and faithful husband, father and friend. His trustworthiness and sense of humor were some of his greatest attributes. He served as a coach in various sports and also as a mentor to his three sons. Some of his interests were photography, video editing and fishing which mostly centered on his family.

Steve was a member of the First Baptist Church Soddy Daisy where he was very active. In 1974 he earned his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. For the past 35 years, he worked as a Civil Engineer for TVA. While at TVA he also served as a representative for the United Way.

His father, John Fred Taylor, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dottie Taylor; three sons, Cory Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Sam Taylor; mother, Clara Nell Taylor; brother, John (Louise) Taylor; niece, Stephanie (Robbie) Mitchum and a great-niece and nephew, Taylor and Maddie Mitchum.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, at First Baptist Church Soddy Daisy with Bill Shadwick officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. on Friday.
