New “Play Trail” Playground Opens At The Riverpark

  • Monday, November 15, 2010

Representatives of Gametime Equipment and local officials will celebrate the opening of a new Play Trail at the Tennessee Riverpark on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

“The play trail is a new concept in playground equipment,” said Anne-Marie Spencer, director of marketing for GameTime. “It’s designed to engage families with interactive and educational exhibits, along a trail. It’s a fun and active way for parents and children to share time outside.”

The new play trail at the Riverpark is located at the Riverpoint entrance at South Chickamauga Creek on Amnicola Highway at Lost Mound Drive.

Jeannine Alday, chief of staff for County Mayor Claude Ramsey, said, “We’re excited to have the nation’s first Play Trail at the Riverpark. It’s a great fit. The Play Trail promotes three lifestyle habits that we feel are very important for a healthy family: exercise, learning, and spending time together.

”It is a great new destination for parents with young children."

Recreation professionals from across the nation are in Chattanooga this week at the American Trails Symposium in Chattanooga.
