Men’s Metro Returns To Brown Acres This Weekend

As one of the longest-running tournaments in the state, the Chattanooga’s Men’s Metro Championship will be played for the 96th time on Friday and Saturday. Brown Acres Golf Course will serve as the host site for the fourth time in tournament history, making its return to the East Brainerd layout for the first time since 2007.

Championships will be awarded in the Regular division along with Senior and Super Senior play, and the defending champion in each category will be on hand to defend their crown won last year at Lookout Mountain Club.

Andrew Weathers, the 2024 champion, seeks to claim his third title in the tournament’s history as 43 golfers will be competing in the Regular division. Other former winners in the field incude Sport Allmond (2015), Ben Rebne (2016) and Hunter Vest (2022).

Steve Johnson will be on hand to defend his Senior title, while Richard Brame hopes to repeat as Super Senior winner.

Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame members Ed Brantly and Lew Oehmig each won this event seven times, while fellow Hall of Famer Polly Boyd captured six wins.

Play commences Friday at 8 a.m., and the final round of the 36-hole event takes place on Saturday.
