In recognition of Mother’s Day and spring, volunteers Lorraine Richardson, Winifred Sanders and Eastdale Recreation Specialist Michelle Taylor treated children and parents to a formal Victorian style afternoon tea.
The activity gave girls and boys, and family members, a chance to dress-up and participate in the popular British social, recreational and cultural pass-time.
Being seated and served real brewed hot tea, traditional cucumber sandwiches and other tea-time sweets, the group experienced the way European cultures create a special time each day to celebrate friends and family members and show appreciation for the good things in their lives.
In addition to the refreshments, participants shared stories, poems and songs during the afternoon program.
