Mrs. Bernard (Lee) Levy, Colonial Dame of the Year, left, is presented the award by Mrs. George (Joan) Hanks, State Chaplain, Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century.
The Colonial Dame of the Year Award is presented to one who demonstrates
outstanding leadership and service in her community and chapter. The 2010-2011 award was presented to Mrs. Bernard (Lee) Levy, president of the Prudhomme Fort Chapter, Colonial
Dames Seventeenth Century, at the quarterly January meeting held at the Chattanooga Choo Choo.
Mrs. Levy has led activities involving the marking and preservation of historic places,
scholarship availability to area students, and was a team leader in planning the “50th Anniversary” of the Chattanooga Prudhomme Fort Chapter, which was held in September at the Fairyland Club on Lookout Mountain – repeating the date and location of the chapter’s
organizational meeting in 1960. She has always been a "people person" by caring for those in need and instilling others to do the same.
