Alfred “Al” Fehn, 91, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, May 26, 2011.

Al was born in San Antonio, Texas, and was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. He served the country during World War II in the Air Corp in India. Al and his brother Robert owned and operated Fehn’s Restaurant.

He was a former president with the Chattanooga Restaurant Association, member of the National Restaurant Association, and one of the founders of the Chattanooga Restaurant Supply Company.

Al was an elder at Northside Presbyterian Church and member of the Louis Harris Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Chattanooga Jaycee’s, enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frieda Fehn.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Virginia; children, Bruce (Gerry) Fehn, Houston, Texas, Donald (Colleen) Fehn, Chattanooga and Bill (Debbie) Fehn, Florida; grandchildren, David (Megan) Fehn, Houston, Texas, Lauren Fehn, Chattanooga and Michael Fehn, Houston, Texas; brother, Robert Fehn, Chattanooga; sister, Dora (Harry) Rice, Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the North Chapel.

Private Graveside services will be held on Monday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

A Memorial Service will follow on Monday at 2 p.m. at Northside Presbyterian Church, 923 Mississippi Ave., Chattanooga, Tennessee 37405 with Rev Ben Skidmore officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made in Al’s name to Northside Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
