Arthur Nelson Aicher, 81, of Apison, died on March 19, 2013.

Arthur was born January 26, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pa. He attended Frankford High School in Philadelphia. Arthur joined the U.S. Marine Corp in 1952 and served in Korea from 1952-1955. He was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart. He worked for the Philadelphia Board of Education as an electrical engineer until he retired and moved to Collegedale, with his wife, Ruth. 

After moving to Tennessee, he worked part time for several years at Ace Hardware in Ooltewah. He loved to talk to people, care for his lawn, tinker with cars and spend as much time as possible with his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Elizabeth Bangert Aicher.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ruth Kubernbus Aicher; daughter, Denise (Gary) Brown; son, Dennis (Robin) Moore; grandchildren, Kimberly (Robert) Brown Murray, Jillian Brown, Katie Brown, Dennis Moore, Michael Moore and Amber Moore.
