Rosie Mae Whitlow Turner Upshaw, 87, of Chickamauga, GA, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her residence.
She was a member of Cove Road Church Of God and was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Upshaw; and parents, Sylvester Whitlow and Maggie Clemons Whitlow.
She is survived by four daughters, Rose Mary (Reynold Lee) Jones, Doris (Willie) Lay, Shirley (Casper) Bailey, all of Chickamauga and Betty (Larry) Howell of Lafayette; one son, J. T. Turner, Jr. of Chickamauga; brother-in-law, Robert Turner, Sr. and sister-in-law, Mattie Simpson, both of Chickamauga; 33 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, July 13, at 1 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 20 Parrish Road, Chickamauga, with Pastor James Brown, Sr. and other ministers officiating. Interment will follow in Garmany Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12 at the church from 6-7 p.m. and one hour before the service on Saturday, July 13.
