Korean War Veteran Retired From DuPont After 30 Years

Earl L. Jackson, 80, of Hixson, died on Monday, January 13, 2014.  

He was a member of Red Bank Presbyterian Church. Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from DuPont with 30 years of service.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jennie Jackson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Bettye O. Jackson; one daughter, Sharon Gray (James); two sisters, Betty Cornelius and Anna B. Chapman of East Ridge; two brothers, Ralph Jackson (Margie) of Hixson and Bobby Jackson (Brenda) of Flintstone.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Red Bank Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Everett Gossett and the Reverend Eric Duble officiating.  Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.  

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, and 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursday, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, 877-3524.
