Charles Alexander “Zan” Young died on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, in Knoxville.

Zan was born to loving parents, Mike and Robin Young on August 14, 1989 in Chattanooga. He attended Chattanooga Christian School. Following graduation from Chattanooga State Middle College, Zan attended the University of Tennessee. He was a member of the UT Investment Group and was passionate about investment research. Zan also enjoyed UT Sports, old movies, and backpacking. He was an avid scout and achieved the designation of Eagle Scout.

Zan was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church.

He is survived by his grandparents, Fred and Mable Miller, two aunts, three uncles and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fay Young.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Walliser officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4–8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home.
