Michael Eugene Cline, 77, of Chattanooga went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Mike was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy.

He fought his battle with illness with unwavering courage, particularly for the last five years. Despite spending much of that time in treatment, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout this entire journey he showed remarkable strength.

Parkway Baptist Church in Ft. Oglethorpe was dear to him and his late wife, Suzie. They served the Lord there and made many lasting friendships.

Mike also loved sports-particularly golf which he played as often as possible, watching Atlanta Braves baseball and College football - he was a true Vols fan. A surprise to the family in the last few years was that he was an amazing Ping-Pong player. He played in the Navy and apparently never lost that skill as he could take on much younger players and win, much to their surprise.

Mike graduated from Kirkman Technical High School and joined the Navy after graduation. He served off the coast of Vietnam for several years. When he left the Navy he returned home to Chattanooga and attended UTC for his business degree. He later worked for many years at Combustion Engineering and later retired from Komatsu America Corp. after 25 years of service.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Suzie Brogdon Cline; and parents, Gene and Verdie Cline.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Hubkey (Ed); sister, Paula Tatum (David); and brothers, Larry Cline (Jane), Terry Cline (Joyce) and Steve Cline (Dawn); and several nieces and nephews. He will forever be loved and remembered by his grandson, Jaxon Hubkey.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, April 28, in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. David Sampson officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation in Mike's name.

Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, April 28, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
