UTC Beach Volleyball Set To Host OVC Championships This Weekend

  • Wednesday, April 23, 2025
It is officially tournament time in the Scenic City, as for the first time ever the Chattanooga beach volleyball team is set to host the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Championships presented by Sunbelt Bakery.

Set to run April 24-26 at the UTC Sports Complex, the tournament features all six OVC programs in a double elimination bracket format up until the eventual tournament championship match. The winner of this weekend’s tournament will receive the OVC’s automatic bid into the 2025 NCAA Tournament, set to take place May 2-4 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The Mocs are one year removed from having won last year’s 2024 OVC Tournament, and will have their sights set on going back-to-back in 2025.

The Sandy Mocs enter the weekend as the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed for the very-first time in program history after finishing the 2025 regular season a perfect 10-0 in conference action. UTC will play the winner of No. 4 Lindenwood and No. 5 Tennessee Tech, who play earlier in the day on Thursday. Chattanooga’s first match of the weekend is set for 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 24.

A win for the Mocs would propel Chattanooga into the winner’s bracket OVC Semifinal. Another win in that match would guarantee the Mocs’ spot in Saturday’s OVC title match.

All of this weekend’s festivities at the UTC Sports Complex will be free and open to the general public, including parking in the UTC Sports Complex lot. Fans not able to attend can still follow along with the Mocs, as every single match this weekend will be available to stream via ESPN+. Live stats will also be available for each match this weekend too.

Links, once they are made available by the OVC, can be found either on the Chattanooga beach volleyball schedule page on GoMocs.com OR on the OVC Championship Central located on OVCSports.com.
