Hamilton Takes The Stage In Chattanooga

Tivoli Theatre Foundation Hosts Free Events, Masterclasses And VIP Experiences

Broadway’s cultural phenomenon Hamilton arrives in Chattanooga with more than just show-stopping performances. As part of its Broadway at the Memorial Auditorium series presented by First Horizon Foundation, The Tivoli Theatre Foundation will present a full week of free community events, student masterclasses, and exclusive VIP receptions in celebration of the hit musical, running April 22–May 2 at the Memorial Auditorium.

“Chattanooga is buzzing with excitement as the groundbreaking Broadway sensation, HAMILTON, hits the Memorial stage this week,” says Nick Wilkinson, CEO of the Tivoli Theatre Foundation. “And thanks to our donors and sponsors, audiences of all ages will enjoy exclusive opportunities to go behind the scenes, meet cast members, and dive deeper into the revolutionary world of Hamilton.”

Tuesday, April 22—Sunday, April 27:
Hamilton Pre-show TivTalks, get behind-the-scenes insight from our own resident Broadway experts, Steve Ray, professor, department head, and artistic director of the UTC Theatre Company, and Greg Martin, local historian and Tennessee House of Representatives member. TivTalks are held one hour before most Hamilton performances in the Walker Theatre. Admission is free to all Broadway at the Memorial subscribers.

Tuesday, April 22:

5:45 p.m. – “Hamilton in Hamilton County” Opening Night Reception, Tuesday night Hamilton ticketholders and Tivoli 1921 Society members are invited to an exclusive reception in the VIP 1921 Society Green Room with private bar, tasty food, and comfortable seating. Tickets for non-1921 Society members are $19.21 while supplies last and support the Tivoli Theatre renovation project.

Thursday, April 24:
4:30-5:30 p.m. – TivEd “Hamilton Dance Masterclass for High School and College Dancers,” led by a company member from the national tour of Hamilton. Held in the Walker Theater, space is limited, and admission is free. High school and college students can register at https://tivolichattanooga.com/Education/TivEd.

Friday, April 25:
4 p.m. – Jewel Award Nominee Reveal, watch the announcement of the 24 Best Actor/Actress nominees (one from each Hamilton County Jewel Award school) via YouTube, screening live at the Walker Theatre. For more information, visit https://tivolichattanooga.com/Education/JewelAwards

4:30-5:30 p.m. – TivEd “HamiltonMILTON Dance Masterclass for High School and College Dancers,” led by a company member from the national tour of Hamilton. Held in the Walker Theater, space is limited, and admission is free. Middle school and high school students can register at https://tivolichattanooga.com/Education/TivEd.

11:10 p.m. - Hamilton Post-show Talk Back, immediately following the performance, join us in the Memorial Auditorium for a lively discussion with Hamilton's cast and creative team, skillfully led by the fantastic local actress Shanice Shantay. This is an excellent chance to enrich your Broadway experience and engage with the talented individuals who brought the show to life. Admission is included with your ticket to the April 25 performance of Hamilton.

Saturday, April 26:
Jewel Award Auditions, Hamilton County student nominees compete for a chance to represent Chattanooga at the national Jimmy Awards in NYC. Hamilton’s Lily Soto joins the judging panel. For more information, visit https://tivolichattanooga.com/Education/JewelAwards

Tuesday, May 2:
4:30–6:00 p.m. – Finalists Masterclass, the top six Jewel Award finalists receive a one-on-one vocal workshop with Hamilton’s Lily Soto in the Walker Theatre.
