Virginia Gilbert
Virginia R. Gilbert, 70, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, May 25, 2014 in Marathon, Florida as a result of an automobile accident.
Virginia was born and raised in Chattanooga. She was a devoted and faithful member of Tyner Church of Christ and was currently employed as a registered nurse at Orange Grove Center. She was a graduate of City High School and the Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing. She had retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield as an on-site review nurse and auditor. She had also worked as a nurse at Humana Hospital, was a member of the Tri-State Women Veterans and was a U.S. Air Force nurse veteran.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Esper and Ada Ruth Roy.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Gilbert; Aunt, Dot Vinsant; and several cousins, including Butch Miller.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 30, and 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at the funeral home with Ministers John Cupp and George Cupp officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
