Christopher Clay, 29, is facing charges of aggravated burglary, theft under $500 and vandalism, though the victims are reluctant to prosecute.

In the incident on Tuesday, police went to an address on Hunt Drive on a possible burglary in progress. Lisa Cantrell said Clay, her former boyfriend, had come into her home uninvited by using the key she gave him while they were dating.

She said they had not been dating since after Thanksgiving and they had only dated between a month and a month and a half.

She said she had been trying to get the key back.

The ex-girlfriend said she did not hear Clay come into the room until he confronted her new boyfriend, Elijajuan Smith, who had just awakened.

Smith said he had just sat up in bed when Clay walked up to him and asked, "Are you ------- my b----?"

He said he then punched him in the mouth, leaving a swollen upper lip and a small abrasion.

The new boyfriend said Clay took his cellphone and $27 from his wallet.

Ms. Cantrell said the commotion woke her up. She said Clay grabbed her spare car key from a nightstand. She said he got her IPhone 5 and tried to smash it on the dresser. He then broke a $100 nursery light on the dresser.

He then left in a 2003 Ford Explorer.

Smith said he did not wish to prosecute, and Ms. Cantrell refused to fill out a victim statement.
