James Franklin Wilson, 88, of Red Bank, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, November 30 , 2015, following a long battle with cancer (multiple myeloma). 

Jim was born in Red Bank and lived there most of his life.  He loved this community where he attended schools and worshiped God in the Red Bank-White Oak area. Jim worked and retired from the DuPont Company after 38 years of service. He also made many dear friends while living there and many have gone on ahead of him. 

Jim also loved our country. He served this country two different times during World War II and again during the Korean War. He always displayed the U.S. flag at his home on all the flag days. A true American. 

Jim was the son of the late Oscar and Addie Wilson. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Delmont, Walter and Thomas; three sisters, Louise McGauhey, Gladys White and June Farris.

Jim is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Melba Grooms Wilson; son, Monte Frank Wilson (Sherri); two daughters, Vickie (Mike) Nelms and Deidra (Joe) Moore; four grandchildren, James F. Wilson II (Jennifer), Joseph (Kate) Moore, Erin (Ben) Enloe, and Lindsey Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Jesse, Jailyn, Ethan, Landen, Sadie and Evie; four sisters, Virginia Hawk, Martha Faye Hebert, Jane Hetzel, and Jean (Stanley) Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Jim loved God and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of White Oak Church of Christ and was a former member of Red Bank Church of Christ.  He was a former Boy Scout Master of Troop #58. Jim also coached and managed Red Bank Little League Baseball teams.  

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel.

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Minister Jim Dearman officiating. Entombment follows in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial contribution made to “Good News Today” TV Broadcast care of White Oak Church of Christ, Chattanooga, TN 37415 or Chattanooga Area Food Bank, 2009 Curtain Pole Road, Chattanooga, TN 37416. 

The family would like to thank the Life Care Center of Red Bank and the Hospice of Chattanooga for the amazing care dad received. A special thanks to Dr. Jeffery Kemp and his staff for taking such good care of Daddy all these years.
