County Commission Approves Resolution To Split Up Proceeds From Sale Of East Brainerd School For Various School Needs

  • Wednesday, February 18, 2015

The County Commission on Wednesday passed a resolution expressing the group's intent to use proceeds from the sale of the East Brainerd School property for various school needs.

The money would be split evenly among the nine districts.

The district commissioner and school board representative would decide how the money would be spent in each district.

A new East Brainerd Elementary is set to open in August at a new location.

Supt. Rick Smith said the sale of the school is probably a year away.

Commissioners said the handling of the property proceeds would need to also be approved by the school board.
