The 2016 Soddy Daisy Distinguished Young Woman is Hannah Stimart.  She is the daughter of Ruth and Adam Stimart.  The first runner-up is Anna Marion, daughter of Bill and Caroline
Marion and second runner-up is Elise Halcomb, daughter of Marilyn and Ethan Halcomb.

The program was held at Soddy Elementary School.  The chairman of the program is Carol Pierce.

The girls, which were all juniors in high school, competed for funds for college scholarships and the opportunity to represent Soddy Daisy at the Tennessee Distinguished Young Women Program on July 10 and 11 in Cleveland at the Dixon Center at Lee University.

A panel of five judges evaluated the teens in Scholastics, Interview, Fitness, Self-Expression and Talent.  The program's goal is to honor young women who excel in all these areas and to encourage them to continue on the path of excellence by completing their educations and assuming roles of leadership in their communities and professions, thereby setting an example for other women to follow.
