Stevenson, Madge Elizabeth (Cleveland)

Madge Elizabeth Stevenson, 82, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at a local health care facility. 

She had lived in the Cleveland area her entire life.  She was an active member of the Durkee Road Church of God of Prophecy.  She had served as a Gray Lady at the hospital, and loved serving other people in need.  She was a caretaker at heart. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Roy Stevenson; parents, James Carden and Rebecca Coffee Carden; and brother, James Carden, Jr. 

She is survived by her four children, John Ray Stevenson and wife Bonnie, James Michael “Mike” Stevenson, Joe Stevenson and Jeannie Stevenson Bitzel and husband Tony, all of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Jonathan Stevenson, Josh Smith and Jessie Reed, all of Cleveland; one great-grandchild, McKenzie Stevenson of Cleveland; two sisters, Patricia Carden, Marie Ledford and husband R.L., both of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Barbara Hicks, Faye Lawson, Ann Dunn and Jane Roe. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Jenn Cissom and Reverend Rick Brock officiating.  Interment will follow at Michigan Avenue Baptist Church Cemetery with Kenneth Dixon, Daryl Blair, Tony Bitzel, James Norman, Jackie Dale Carden and James Carden serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 6, at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
