I get tons of fascinating email every day and, while I try to share some of it with my Internet pals, I wish I were a clever as the minds that send the random thoughts soaring. Today I offer five examples of what I wish I could share with more people every day.

I haven’t the foggiest idea who wrote these five emails, but whether you agree or not, each of them gets an A for being clever:

* * *

Today I placed my S&W .357 Revolver on the table right next to my front door. I left six cartridges beside it, then left it alone and went about my business.

“While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor boy across the  street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign near the front of my house.

After about an hour, I checked on the gun. It was still sitting there, right where I had left it. It hadn't moved itself outside.

“It certainly hadn't killed anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had presented to do so. In fact, it hadn't even loaded itself. Well, you can imagine my surprise, with all the hype by the Left and the media about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people. Either the media is wrong or I'm in possession of the laziest gun in the world.

“The United States is third in murders throughout the world.

“But if you take out just four cities: Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC and New Orleans, the United States is fourth from the bottom, in the entire world, for murders. These four cities also have the toughest gun control laws in the U.S. All four of these cities are controlled by Democrats. It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this data, right?

“Well, I'm off to check on my spoons. I hear they're making people fat.”

ORIGIN OF LEFT AND RIGHT

Don't know what your politics are, but this is interesting. Remember what Jesus said: 'Goats on the left, sheep on the right' (Matthew 25:33).

Jesus also told Peter that if he wanted to catch fish do it from the right side of the boat. They did and filled the boat with fish. John 21:6 (NIV) ... He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish."

I have often wondered why it is that conservatives are called the "right" and liberals are called the "left". By chance I stumbled upon this verse in the Bible:   Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV) - "The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left."

Thus sayeth the Lord. Amen. It surely can't get any simpler than that.

Spelling Lesson :

The last four letters in American..........  I Can

The last four letters in Republican........ I Can

The last four letters in  Democrats......... Rats

End of lesson! Test to follow on November 6, 2016.

For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Romans 8:13-14.

READ S-L-O-W-L-Y

I  have never heard this said as simply or as well.

The  folks who are getting the free stuff don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.

And the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop.

And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now -- the people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are receiving the free stuff that the people who are paying for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So -- the people who are getting the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first  place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this: All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere
between 200 and 250 years after being founded. The reason? The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 239 years  ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free  stuff. Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

Can’t you hear students telling their teachers they want to be welfare recipients where they grow up? The work ethic we inherited growing up has fallen prey to the welfare system. The Cato Institute released an update 2014 study (original study in 1955) showing that welfare benefits pay more than a minimum wage job in 33 states and the District of Columbia.

Even worse, welfare pays more than $15 an hour in 13 states.

According to the study, welfare benefits have increased faster than the minimum wage. Now it is more profitable to sit at home and watch TV than it is to earn an honest day’s pay.

Hawaii is the biggest offender, where welfare recipients earn $29.13 an hour, or a yearly salary of $60,590, all for doing nothing.

Here is a list of states where the pre-tax equivalent “salary” that welfare recipients receive is higher than having a job:

1. Hawaii $60,590; 2. District of Columbia $50,820; 3. Massachusetts $50,540; 4. Connecticut $44,370; 5.New York $43,700; 6. New Jersey $43,450; 7. Rhode Island $43,330; 8. Vermont $42,350; 9. New Hampshire $39,750; Maryland, $38,160, 11.California $37,160; 12. Oregon $34,300; 13. Wyoming $32,620; 14.Nevada $29,820; 15. Minnesota $29,350; 16. Delaware $29,220; 17. Washington $28,840; 18. North Dakota $28,830; 19. Pennsylvania $28,670; 20. New Mexico $27,900, 21. Montana $26,930; 22. South Dakota $26,610; 23. Kansas $26,490; 24. Michigan $26,430; 25. Alaska $26,400; 26. Ohio $26,200; 27. North Carolina $25,760; 28. West Virginia $24,900; 30. Indiana $22,900, 31.Missouri $22,800; 32. Oklahoma $22,480; 33. Louisiana $22,250, and 34. South Carolina $21,910.

As a point of reference the average middle-class income today is $50,000, down from $54,000 at the beginning of the Great Recession (December 2007-June 2009). Hawaii, DC, and Massachusetts pay more in welfare that the average working folks there. Is it any wonder that they stay at home rather than look for a job? It is time for a drastic change. America is virtually bankrupt.

Note that California is $18.50 an hour. Are we nuts or what? How do we undo the stupidity?

Salary of retired United States Presidents, $180,000 for life. Salary for House/Senate, $174,000 for life. (This is beyond stupid) Salary of Speaker of the House, $223,500 for life. (This is really stupid.) Salary of majority/minority leader, $193,400 for life. Average salary for a teacher: $40,065. Average salary for a soldier deployed in Afghanistan: $38,000 (Think about this!)

Nancy Pelosi will retire from Congress at $174,000 a year for life. She has retired as Speaker at $223,500 a year, plus she will receive $193,400 as minority leader, the fact she has become rich while in office notwithstanding. That’s $803,700 a year for life, not including free medical care which is not available to the taxpayers.

She is just one of the hundreds of Senators and Congress who float in and out every year. I think we have founds where the cuts needs to be made. If you agree…pass it on. I just did.

MIXED UP ABOUT ‘UP’

“There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that is 'UP.' It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP? At a meeting, why does a topic come UP?

“Why do we speak UP and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends. And we use it to brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver; we warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and some guys fix UP the old car.

“At other times the little word has real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses. To be dressed is one thing, but to be dressed UP is special.

“A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP. We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP  at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP !

“To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look the word UP in the dictionary. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4th of the page and can add UP to about 30 definitions.

“If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more. When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP. When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP .

“When it rains, it wets the earth and often messes things UP. When it doesn't rain for awhile, things dry UP . One could go on and on, but I'll wrap it UP, for now my time is UP, so … it is time to shut UP!

Now it's UP to you what you do with this email.
